Subject: Clarification Regarding Work-Life Balance
Dear Team,
The management has been given to understand that some employees are assuming that work-life balance means that work should end when office hours end. This is an incorrect interpretation. Work-life balance means employees should maintain a balance between office work and work undertaken from home.
To ensure clarity, the following guidelines must be followed with immediate effect:
- Office hours: Employees may leave at 6 pm, provided they ensure that all pending work is completed. Those who complete their work by 6 pm are expected to demonstrate greater initiative.
- WhatsApp availability: It is not mandatory for employees to respond to messages after office hours. However, they are cautioned that failure to respond may be construed as insufficient ownership.
- Weekend work: Saturdays and Sundays remain holidays. Employees willing to work on weekends will be considered team players. Those reluctant to work on these days will be recognised as individuals.
- Family commitments: Management fully supports spending quality time with family, provided employees schedule such activities around business exigencies.
- Mental well-being: Employees experiencing stress are free to contact HR, which will immediately form a committee to understand why their productivity has declined.
Management remains fully committed to making this organisation a Great Place to Work.
Regards,
Human Resources
P.S. Acknowledgement is expected before midnight.
