About Karyalok

Karyalok is an independent, bilingual digital publication that chronicles how India and Indians work, and how the world of work is changing. We cover careers, workplaces, leadership, business, technology, industry, labour, employment and the forces shaping working lives across the country.

Going beyond announcements and headlines, we examine what developments actually mean for Indian people. The central or state government, or a factory may promise thousands of jobs. But who will be eligible for them? Is a particular degree worth its cost? Is a rapidly growing industry actually creating opportunities for those entering the workforce?

Karyalok seeks answers to these questions. We particularly focus on people stepping into the world of work, from school-leavers and apprentices to diploma holders, graduates and first-time workers across industries. We think they deserve reliable information to help them make appropriate decisions about education and employment.

Karyalok also examines how organisations are managed, how workplaces function, how industries evolve and how decisions made by businesses and governments affect working lives. We believe in presenting evidence before opinion and understanding, instead of just information overload. Karyalok publishes in English and Hindi, with articles in both languages backed by research and developed to the same editorial standards.

We are independently published, free from commercial influence and committed to journalism that is accurate and questioning. Our goal is to become a trusted source of information for all those who seek to understand India’s world of work. Less reading. More understanding.
